Partner Appreciation
REW’s mortgage team (REW.Money) requested the Studio to organize a dinner honoring their top real estate agent partners. In addition to the dinner at Brix & Mortar, REW seized this opportunity to launch the Money Partner Membership, further expressing their appreciation. To enhance this experience, we created a new REW logo that conveys a sense of luxury and exclusivity, perfectly aligned with the event's theme.
Event Designer
As sole designer for this event, it was my responsibility to ensure that the agent’s experience was elevated and felt exclusive through design. I really wanted to give them a sense of belonging, and to feel the a luxury status from the new REW logo designed just for them.
Logo Design
Every bit of the membership brand was created with money in mind.
I was inspired by gold coins and the guilloché technique, which is commonly used in printed cash and certificate design.
I wanted to transform the REW logo into a beautiful medallion. Once I figured out a way to render a guilloché-like pattern, it worked perfectly and really embodied the look and feel of luxury.
The Experience
I continued on discovering more ways to incorporate the theme of money into everything. For example, the Money Partner Media Kit USB’s are held in black cash envelops and the NFC membership card is designed after a vertical credit card.
My favourite idea was when I referenced “Pay Day”, a vintage board game from 1974, for the printed invites. The game comes with loan calculators, made up of simple card-stock sleeves with a small window revealing a line of numbers on the card inside. As you pull the card inside the sleeve up or down it reveals which loan you have in the game. I thought it would be a cool first impression for the guest to see their name appear through the cut out. As they pull the card out, the stacked date is revealed mimicking the list of loans in the calculator.
It is not an obvious reference, but I got really excited when I thought of Pay Day. I love it when I figure out ways to make something on brand and even more when it can include a bit of history.
In my opinion, a good design comes with a story.
